Not so long ago, nonprofits were recognized if they had an appealing cause and a passion for their work. That is not enough anymore for most funders. Two additional requirements are growing in importance.
First is the ability to leverage existing resources by collaborating with other organizations – funders want to avoid duplicative services.Second, is the demonstrated ability to produce results – funders want to see credible evidence that their investment produced a positive impact.
Forward-thinking nonprofits are building internal capacity and external networks that can deliver results.
